Austria Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer meets Oji and AustroCel to discuss the paper and pulp industry in transition.
Despite ongoing intensive negotiations on the dual budget, the Austrian Finance Minister, Dr. Markus Marterbauer, took time out for a lively exchange of views with Hiroyuki Isono, President and CEO of Oji Holdings Corporation, Kazuhiko Kamada, Board Member, Executive Vice President and CSO, and Dr. Wolfram Kalt, CEO of AustroCel, on the subject of the paper and pulp industry in transition.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present Oji as a truly global industrial group that combines a long tradition with innovation, a focus on sustainability and long-term strategic commitment. The acquisition of AustroCel Hallein GmbH sends a strong international signal:
Austria can attract global industrial investment when innovation, sustainability and industrial implementation come together successfully.
AustroCel has transformed itself from a traditional pulp mill into one of Europe’s most advanced integrated biorefinery platforms – combining textile biomaterials, non-textile bioperformance products, advanced biofuels and, in future, the use of biogenic carbon as well as the integration of hydrogen.
This investment demonstrates how the Oji Group and AustroCel can jointly position Austria at the forefront of the industrial bioeconomy transformation in Europe.
