BEHAVIOR OUTSIDE
Locate closed buildings
Immediately go to a safe building for protection. Call children into the house immediately so that they are under supervision and do not react incorrectly due to ignorance.
Pick up passersby, help senior citizens and the disabled
Allow passersby, senior citizens, and disabled persons who cannot safely reach their homes into the building.
BEHAVIOR IN THE BUILDING
Close windows and doors
Immediately close windows and exterior doors on every floor (including the basement) to keep gases out.
Turn off air circulation.
Get wet cloths ready
Irritation of the respiratory tract and impairment of breathing can be reduced by holding a wet cloth in front of the mouth and nose.
Do not block the telephone lines
Only call the police, fire department or other agencies in case of an emergency. The phone lines are needed to coordinate relief and rescue efforts.
Avoid basement rooms
Please do not go to the basement or leave the basement and go to the first floor, as higher rooms offer better protection.
BEHAVIOR IN CASE OF AN EVACUATION
Keep calm
Follow the instructions of the emergency personnel. Lock buildings to prevent looting.
In the case of health impairments
Contact your primary care physician or emergency medical services.
