Growing our future
The future starts now. Together, we work on innovations, use our resources as efficiently as possible, and configure processes and activities on a sustainable basis. AustroCel produces high-purity cellulose using residual spruce wood from sawmills in the surrounding region. We are a supplier of green energy for the region, and of biofuel for Austria. Employees who want to grow at and with our company now have the opportunity to turn their vocation into a career.
We promote potential and recognise talent
Recognizing talent, encouraging potential
In-depth apprenticeship training, a comprehensive trainee program and individually customized training opportunities for future managers are the three mainstays of the staff development at AustroCel Hallein.
Behind the success of a company are dedicated employees. At AustroCel Hallein, recognizing employees’ talents, encouraging them, opening opportunities for their further development and highlighting career prospects are key priorities. Here, the idea of sustainability is central. Many employees began as apprentices in the company and have steadily developed through their commitment, knowledge and talent.
Training apprentices is one of the mainstays of our staff development. In 2020, the application process and the selection of the apprentices took place online. The apprentice workshop has been renewed and offers young people the opportunity to get to know all the areas of our business – technical, metal, electrical, laboratory. At the same time, the team of apprentice supervisors has been expanded to ensure that all apprenticeship positions are covered.
A new 18-month trainee program has been launched for graduates of an HTL (technical school) or those with a degree in engineering or technology. In January 2021, the first young technician began working as a trainee. The goal is to give the talented young people a good start to their careers and to convey the variety of tasks at AustroCel Hallein. At the end of the program, the goal is to secure a permanent job.
Identifying and encouraging young employees who have potential for in-house careers is the goal of the third mainstay: The high-potential program offers training and development opportunities at a high level, to provide optimum support for our employees’ future career steps.
